Garces braces for tough test vs Paradero at Skyhall today
CEBU, Philippines — Kit Ceron Garces of Prime Stags Stable faces another tough test in his budding career as he trades blows with former world title challenger Robert “Super Inggo” Paradero of Bukidnon in a 10-rounder flyweight duel topbilling the “Mano a Mano sa Sugbo” fight card presented by Prime Stags Promotions today (Saturday, July 20) at the Skyhall of SM Seaside City.
The slambang show that is free to the public starts at 3 p.m.
Garces, 25, carries a 7-1 win-loss card spiked with 5KOs, while Paradero sports a 19-7-2 record laced with 13KOs.
Experience wise, the Talisay City-native Garces may be at a disadvantage but he up for the challenge against a veteran opponent who is three years his senior.
“Wala ko ma- intimidate kay kana iyang pagka-beterano amo na gipangandaman og maayo,” said Garces, who is coming off back-to-back victories against Ernesto Camiguing and Harry Nier since absorbing his first defeat by unanimous decision to Noli James Maquilan on January 11 last year at the Cebu City Sports Center.
“ Grabi sab amo training mao nang confident kaayo mi nga modaog.Kana segurong knockout maabot ra late rounds na,” added Garces.
Paradero, for his part, vowed to put up a great fight against Garces.
“Sakto mi sa training. Dili ko makaingon kon dunay ma-knockout but tagaan nako og maayong dula ang mga tawo. Binundakay gyud ni ugma (today),” said Paradero.
Meanwhile, aside from Garces, five other Prime Stags ring gladiators will see action in the seven-bout spectacle presented by Winzir.
Carlo Bacaro will go up against Jose Roda Jr. of Magdiwang Romblon, Michael Adolfo will mix up up with Vergilio Silvano of Agus, Lapu-Lapu City, Johnver Espra will lock horns with Franz Carl Muyso of Mabuhay, General Santos City, Jhon Anthony Magos will take on Ronald Bulacan of Lupon, Davao Oriental, while Jimmybie Cais will slug it out with Neel Jacamos of GenSan’s Amoy Gym.
In the other match, Ben John Rey Yagahon of Verano Gym will tackle Ruel Julian of Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
