Batch 1997, 2017, and 2005 reach semis ni SLCC alumni tourney

CEBU, Philippines — Batch 1997, 2017, and 2005 booted out their rivals to barge into the semifinal round of the 2024 St. Louis College-Cebu Alumni Basketball League at the SLCC gym in Mandaue City.

Rey Judilla dropped 21 points on top of eight rebounds and two asssists as the Batch 1997 Cardinals eliminated Batch 2000 in decisive fashion, 66-44, to reach the Final Four.

Marvin Montezon and Khimler Flores also had big contributions for Batch 1997 after combining for 19 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists.

Steve Conde tallied 21 markers laced with six rebounds, and five assists while Hans Binagatan had 10 points, six rebounds, and four assists bt their efforts proved futile for Batch 1997.

On the other hand, Friedrich Batayola, John Abano, and Mark Sasing connived for 36 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 assists as Batch 2017 ousted Batch 1994, 68-44, to roll into the last round of four.

Clijster John Pescalla paced Batch 1994 with 19 points, four rebounds, and five assists, while Andrew Perales cashed in 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists in a losing effort.

In other result, Cesar Dequita sizzled with 22 points on top of two boards and three dimes to help Batch 2005 eliminate Batch 2008, 55-47, and seal a semis spot.

Dequita drew huge support from Procopio Camacho and Jesse Moncada who conspired for 20 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists.

Andrei Sencio, Jett Resol, and Elwin Perez combined for 26 points, 25 rebounds, and four assists but to no avail for Batch 2008.

The league is supported by SLCC Alumni President Rey Ceniza and Batch 1999 President Malcolm Sanchez.

Games are under the supervision of commissioner Paul Alelu Flores assisted by deputy commissioners Francis Dumadag, Rommel Perez, Manuel Cobcoban, Arthur James Testa, and Dale Byran Balili. Anthony Bacolod is the technical committee head.
