Shangri-la faces Seda in HRRACI basketball final

Shangri-la Mactan Cebu and Seda Central Bloc went through separate routes before knocking out their respective rivals to set up a championship showdown in basketball event of the Hotel Resort and Restaurant Association of Cebu, Inc. (HRRACI) Sportsfest 2024 at the Capitol Parish Gym along Escario Street in Cebu City.

Shangri-la toiled hard until the closing seconds of the close contest before pulling off a 71-69 squeaker over the equally-tough JPark Island Resort in the Final Four.

Jose Miguel Tabaloc shined the brightest for Shangri-la with a solid double-double of 21 points and 19 rebounds laced with four assists and as many steals.

Jonathan Canceran was similarly impressive, cashing in 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals as Shangri-la  booked a final ticket against Seda Central Bloc, which advanced to the tournament’s ultimate stage after demolishing Kandaya Resort, 94-66, in the other semifinal match.

Steve Castro showed the way for Seda with 19 points, eight rebounds, nine  assists, and five steals.

Renzo Galdo chipped in 14 markers and seven boards, Marcus Fuentes and Roger Caytuna scored 12 points each, while Adrian Padilla added 10 points, two rebounds, and seven assists underscoring Seda’s balanced attack.

Seda and Shangri-la will clash for the coveted crown on July 21.
