Top caliber riders to see action in Tabogon motocross

CEBU, Philippines — A bunch of top caliber riders across the region will showcase their skills in the second leg of 2024 MS Motosuit Motocross Series billed as the 2nd Mayor Francis Salimbangon Motocross Cup slated on Saturday, May 18, in Barangay Pio, Tabogon north of Cebu.

Veteran daredevils such as PC Gualiza, Clinton Gualiza, Denmar Supatan, Renren Hisoler, and Jojie Basco among others make up the list of strong contenders in the one-day tilt that is among the highlights of Tabogon’s annual fiesta celebration in honor of their beloved patron San Isidro Labrador.

In all, 16 categories will be contested.

These are the local enduro, mini 50, local Norte special, novice, ladies 14 Under, elite, open enduro, underbone, beginners open production, mini class open, executive 40-44, 45-49, and 50-above, ladies open, intermediate, and expert open.

Aside from plaques of recognition, cash prizes will also be given away to all the winners.

Meanwhile, MS Motosuit big boss Lou Ornopia extended his profound gratitude to Tabogon LGU headed by mayor Francis Salimbangon for supporting their race series.

“Mapasalamaton kaayo ko ni mayor Francis (Salimbangon) sa hugot niyang suporta ning atong race series,” said Ornopia, who was once feted as “Sportsman of the Year” by the Sportswriters Association of Cebu (SAC) for his tireless efforts in the promotion and development of this extreme sport not only in Cebu but also all over the Visayas and Mindanao region.

“Sa gika-ingon ko na, ato ning gibuhi ang atong lumba aron pagdasig sa atong mga riders nga ma-competitive sila og balik ug labaw sa tanan makasigpat ta og bag-ong mga talento nga mao gyuy nag-una natong katuyoan pagpahigayon ning atong kalihukan,” Ornopia added.

After Tabogon, Ornopia bared that they will be holding their third leg this June. From there, they plan to stage two more legs before the year ends.
