4th District grabs PCL-Cebu basketball crown

CEBU, Philippines —  The 4th District team emerged as champion of the 2023 Philippine Councilors League (PCL)-Cebu Provincial Federation Basketball Tournament recently at the Capitol Parish Gym along Escario Street in Cebu City.

Led by mayor Sun Shimura of Daanbantayan and vice mayors Gilbert Arrabis, Jr. of Daanbantayan and Eric Alivio of Tabogon, the hardcourt warriors from Cebu’s fourth legislative district outgunned the combined forces from the 3rd and 6th Districts, 69-57, in their sudden-death final to clinch the coveted crown.

The other members of the 4th District champion team are councilors Owen Daruca, Venice Cyrus Rebadomia, and Jhon Robert De la Fuente of Madridejos, Miguel Angelo Pacheco, Markham Mansueto, Leopoldo Umbao, and Carlo Lapingcao of Bantayan, Mowy Luche of Daanbantayan, Ryan James Fariolen, Dindo Zaspa, and Joanes Paulo Esgana of Santa Fe, Raymond Olivar of Medellin, Michael Angelo Pasaol and Kidd Dichos of Tabogon, Joel Gerona of Tabuelan, and Philippe Romeo Tolingin, Erwin Rosal, and Luis Asierto Jr. of Bogo City.

In the other game, the 7th District cagers prevailed over their 2nd District rivals, 92-83, to lift the third place trophy.

The top performing teams will formally be honored in the awarding ceremony scheduled tonight at Radisson Blu Hotel.
