USC Baby Warriors grab U13 crown in BPBL hoop
CEBU, Philippines — The University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors emerged as champion in the 13 Under category of the Batang Pilipino Basketball League (BPBL) Season 2 North Division qualifying.
They demolished the Canduman Youth Basketball Association (CYBA) of Mandaue City in the lopsided final, 56-33, played last Saturday at the Tayud gym in Consolacion town, north of Cebu.
Larry Lyon Salazar Henry spearheaded USC’s charge with 21 points, five assists, six steals and five blocks in an all-around hardcourt brilliance that earned him the MVP award.
With this, the Baby Warriors advanced to the regional finals where they will go up against the Tri-City and South Division champions this November. The overall winner will proceed to the national finals in December in Manila.
Aside from Henry, the other members of the USC U13 champion team are Enzo Garcia, Xyz Requina, Sky Fua, Rene Francis Franco, Joryll Wade Ybaañez, Quinth Simon Costo, Kristian Nino Sala, Inigo Rocco Ofonda, Marcus Zachary Racho, Gabriel Ocaña, Steven Palanas, Zach Xavier Natividad, Kyrie Franz Dysam, and Nicolai Cabañero.
They are under the guidance of coaches Galimar Largo, Neil Sasan, and Dominic Cabaañero.
