Newfold Wolves hands Fusion first loss in Inter-BPO hoop
The Newfold Wolves staged a huge comeback in the final half to hand Fusion its first taste of defeat, 51-49, in the inaugural Hoop Nation Inter-BPO League powered by Hype Pro Cebu at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Trailing by as much as 12 points, the Wolves launched a blistering endgame rally to escape with a thrilling two-point victory.
Jojo Bongo scattered 13 points, six assists and one rebound as the Wolves firmed up their grip of the solo second place in the West Coast with a 7-1 win-loss mark.Nino Belande dropped 23 points on top of six rebounds and two assists but his efforts went for naught at Fusion saw its four-game winning streak come to a halt.
On the other hand, Syoty Menchavez sizzled with 14 points, two boards and three dimes as Iploy improved to 5-3 with a 51-45 triumph over SVC.
In the other results, the Real Page Alphas dismantled Kuehne+Nagel, 63-45, while Cognizant blasted Fujitsu, 74-61.
RC Espinosa finished with 13 points, two rebounds and five assists as Real Page evened its record at 3-3 while John Christian Opone banged in 20 markers laced with two rebounds and one assist to power Cognizant to its second win in six starts. — EBV
