CK Talisay bags championship crown
CEBU, Philippines — Team CK Talisay thrashed Simple Blends, 120-99, in their lopsided final match to clinch the championship of Hoop Nation Arlon Cup Season 2 at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym recently.
John Elmer Villabrille unloaded 23 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and four blocks in an all-around performance for CK Talisay that earned him the Finals MVP award.
Jaypher Ocanada also had 23 points for CK Talisay, which was in complete control after jumping off to a hot 34-17 start.
After closing the first half with a huge 68-41 advantage, CK Talisay never let its guard down.
The lead ballooned to 39 points after three quarters, 103-64, before CK Talisay eventually settled for a 21-point blowout.
Albert Ardiente collected 22 points, eight boards, six dimes and three steals but his efforts went down the drain for Simple Blends. — EBV
