Lucky 7 for Asian Orthopedics 2014 in SHAABAA

CEBU, Philippines —  Showing great team effort, the Asian Orthopedics Batch 2014 blasted RDAK Powersports Batch 2020, 80-60, to stretch their perfect run to seven games in a row in the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 25 at the Magis Eagles Arena in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

Josemaria Rafael “Popoy” Navarro finished with 13 points, five rebounds and two assists while Noriko Benedicto also tallied 13 markers on top of two boards for Batch 2014.

Lucky Ecarma tossed in 12 points, 12 rebounds and four assists while Jair Igna added 12 points, six rebounds and four assists as they tightened their grip of the solo Division C lead with an immaculate 7-0 record.  

The MDP Customs Brokerage-Winzir Batch 2013, on the other hand, kept on breathing down Batch 2014’s neck with a 6-2 slate after trouncing SABR Solutions Batch 2018, 95-71.

Rendell Senining paced Batch 2013 with 36 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. He was backed up by Fletcher Galvez with 18 points, 17 rebounds, four assists and four steals and Arc Gabriel Araw-araw with 16 points, five rebounds, and seven assists.

In Division B, the SUPREA Ready Mixed Concrete Batch 2011 edged Laptap Enterprises & Prince Warehouse Batch 2006, 65-56, to stay at second place with a 6-2 card, while the Marjaztin Glass Trading & Construction Batch 2008 finally barged into the win column after crushing Bizol Batch 2005, 100-66.

Bradley Bacaltos paced Batch 2011 with 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and five steals followed by Bernard Chioson with 12 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

Ricardo Pepito fired 23 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals while Ed Bonphyl Macasling scattered 20 points, nine rebounds and three assists to help Batch 2008 snap out of their six-game jinx. — EBV
