Demand Science keeps playoffs campaign alive in E-leagues basketball

CEBU, Philippines — The Demand Science Paladins pulled off a crucial 73-61 victory over the Shearwater Health Crusaders in the EVO League of the Tanduay Athletics CSCC E-Leagues for Basketball Season 15 last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Aside from applying brake on their four-game slide, the Paladins also kept their flickering playoffs hopes alive with their 12-point drubbing of the Crusaders.

With a 3-10 win-loss record, the Paladins remain in the quarterfinal race but they face a daunting task of sweeping their last three games to accomplish their goal.

Jeffer Ardiente showed the way for Demand Science with 23 points, 16 rebounds, three blocks, two assist and two steals.

John Camasura chipped in 18 markers, Jhon Hernadez added 11 points, 11 boards, five assists and two blocks, while Francis Manzanares contributed 11 points, seven assists and two rebounds for the Paladins.

Christian Hubag had a solid double-double show of 30 points and 13 rebounds but his efforts proved futile as the Crusaders suffered their 12th loss in 15 games.

On the other hand, Tommy Ugsimar, Dennis Poquita, Russef Pananganan and Allester Baz connived for 58 points as the Dynata Warriors pummeled the Fluor Pandas, 84-66, to stay at second place in the standings with an 11-2 slate, just a full game behind the 12-1

Daven Canonigo cashed in 25 points while Ryan Miano and Richard Braza tallied 22 markers across their names but to no avail at the Pandas fell to 8-5.

Not to be outdone, Nicole Sultan unloaded 22 points as the Optum Knights whipped the Author Solutions Philippines Inc. (ASPI) Hardbacks, 76-57, to remain at solo third with an 11-3 card.

Donald De Leon submitted 17 points and 15 rebounds while Ellison Rivera piled up 16 points, 11 boards and four assists for the Hardbacks, who absorbed their ninth setback in 14 starts.

In the other games, Kyocera Frontiers (10-2) won by default over the Medspecialized Unicorns (5-10), Tech Mahindra (9-4) mauled Cognizant (2-11), 88-56, while Results Mactan Newtown (6-7) decimated Iploy (2-11), 107-60.
