Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Region VII composed mainly of Cebuano athletes is on a mission as they seek to clinch their fourth straight overall championship in the Private Schools Athletic Association National Games this Sunday in Davao City.

Central Visayas dominated last year’s edition with 143 gold, 65 silver and 47 bronze medals.

Fr.Adriano Ocariza, athletic director of the University of San Carlos, is confident with the team’s chances.

“I hope that they will be blessed and be guided as they aim for supremacy again,” said Fr. Ocariza after a send-off mass yesterday at the USC chapel.

Region VII is composed of 420 athletes, coaches and officials.

Some of the delegates will be leaving today while the entire delegation is expected to arrive in time for the solidarity meeting on May 18.

Most of the events will take place at University of Mindanao-Matina campus while swimming and beach volleyball will be in Tagum City.
