Poblacion Occidental Summer League gets underway in Lacion tomorrow

CEBU, Philippines — Over a hundred young and aspiring hoopsters will converge tomorrow afternoon at the Consolacion covered court as the Poblacion Occidental Summer Basketball League gets underway.

The friendly yet competitive tournament is participated in by teams from every sitio of the barangay.

The categories to be contested are the mini, midget, junior and senior. The mini and midget will play in a single round robin format while the junior and senior will have a double elimination round.

All games will be under the supervision of league commissioner Mark Niño Gonzaga.

Organized by the barangay's Sangguniang Kabataan officials in Cassey Kirsteen Maglasang, Mike Kevin Maglasang, Gio Garces Juneva Rojas, Joy Rombaiz, Karen Isoto, Christy Veranda and Stacey Sanchez, the month-long tilt is fully supported by Poblacion Occidental Brgy. Capt. Hercules Aligno. It is also backed up by Consolacion SK Federation president Carlos Donn Flores. — EBV
