Makoto bags inter-company title in Aboitiz Cup

CEBU, Philippines — Team Makoto pulled off a vengeful 2-0 win over Leylam FC to grab the inter-company title of the 20th Aboitiz Football Cup over the weekend at the PAREF-Springdale field.

Makoto thus snapped out of its three-game losing skid to Leylam.

Yves Cabellero broke the ice of the match at the 15th while Ren Okuda sealed Makoto's triumph after finding the back of the net, 17 minutes down in the final half.

Okuda was named as the Most Valuable Player while Cabellero got the Golden Boot award.

Two other Makoto players in Limbar “Ipang” Baunsit and Imran Hussain were declared as the Best Defender and Best Goalkeeper, respectively.

In the battle for third place, former champion ERCO FC subdued Motorren, 1-0. (FREEMAN)
