All set for UV Scrabble Challenge

CEBU, Philippines — All is set for the 13th University of the Visayas Scrabble Challenge tomorrow at the UV College of Law building.

The event is open to all, from elementary to professional scrabble players.

Non-pros and professionals combined will play under a seven-round Modified King of the Hill format and six round sof the same system for the high school and elementary entries.

For those who have not yet registered, entry fee is pegged at P150 for elementary and high school and P250 for the rest.

Cash prizes and medals will be given away to the top performers, while all entries get a certificate of participation.

Organized by the UV Green Wizards and the Cebu Scrabble Association, the UV Challenge is one of the local events that even scrabblers from outside of Cebu are looking forward to.

It also serves as a tune-up event for the National Juniors Championships for World Youth Scrabble Championships-bound Team Philippines in London later this year.
