Sorongon rules Run for ERUF
CEBU, Philippines — Veteran long-distance runner Ruffa Sorongon added feather to her cap after dominating Marco Polo Plaza Cebu's Run for Eruf 2018 yesterday morning at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel Cebu grounds.
The 27-year-old Sorongon clinched the 10K women's title with a time of 44 minutes and 35 seconds followed by Leonora Villamor (54:13) and El Marie Albeos (56:47) at second and third place, respectively.
In the men's class, Joseph Emia won the title with a time of 36 minutes and 17 seconds. He outpaced Michael Largo (38:54) who settled for second place as Azlan Pagay (39:18) wound up third.
The 5K action saw Ariel Saballa and Lourence Garcia dominating their respective divisions.
Saballa topped the men's class with a time of (17:37) followed by Harold Kim Guiao (18:22) and Ian Refuela (18:50), in the second and third place, respectively.
Garcia dominated the women's division with 22:48 clocking, while Nancy Del Castillo (34:48) and Rhoda Amante (36:49) occupied the next two spots. (FREEMAN)
