All set for 8th Hunat Sugbu Run
CEBU, Philippines — Over 2,000 runners are expected to join Cebu Parklane International Hotel’s 8th Hunat Sugbu: Dagan Para Ni Maning slated on June 24 at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.
The annual charity run is dedicated to the late Manuel Go Ting, the founding president of Cebu Parklane Hotel.
The race features the 3K, 6K, 12K and 21K categories.
"Hopefully we will reach our target of 2,200 runners. This race is made not just for fun and fitness but mainly to support our medical mission in partnership with Jesu Christi as our beneficiary,” said Hunat Sugbu Chairman Nicanor Nacorda.
The organizers will also give some portion of the proceeds to Alex Silverio, a paratriathlete who wants to achieve his dream of reaching the Paralympics.
"Every year we try to come up with new ideas to entice the runners and the Cebuano community to run. We really try to encourage people to exercise and try running," said Cebu Parklane's General Manager Cenelyn Manguilimotan.
A total of P72,000 in cash prize will be given away to the top finishers in each category.
Registration fee is pegged at P400 for 3K, P500 in 6K, P700 for 12K and P800 for 21K. Entry forms are available at the hotel’s lobby, SM City Cebu and Ayala Center Cebu.
