CEBU, Philippines - After a successful rally last year, the Toyota Team Cebu aspires to grab the best team title and win an overall class championship as it kicks off its bid in the second leg of the Vios Cup 2017 on June 8-10 at the Clark Speedway in Pampanga.

Team Cebu captain Lord Seno expressed that his team hungers for more in this year's race.

"After six leg championships and nine podium finishes we are still hungry for more, basically because we know our mistakes. We aspire to be the best team in 2017 and we want to win an overall class," said Seno in a press conference the other day at Casino Español de Cebu.

Team Cebu was the second winningest team in the Vios Cup 2016 next to the experienced nine-driver Pampanga team  which triggered their confidence this time.

Together with Seno in this rally are Bobby Pangilinan in the promotional class, Jette Calderon in super sporting class, Oscar Suarez and Sean Velasco. Seno will see action in the sporting category.

Velasco and Calderon, the team's strongest title contenders, are both eager to succeed in their respective categories.

"For this year, we gonna try to deliver more trophies for every single race and hopefully win the championship. I am very hungry in this race. I want to put Cebu as the number one team of the Philippines," said Velasco.

Calderon is as fired up as Velasco.

"I would really like to win the championship this year. We have tasted the win podium last year, so the next goal would be the championship. And so far, we've been doing really good in our practices. If it goes that way, we have a higher chance to win the race,”  said Calderon.

The team's maturity from three years of racing will be tested as they charge their wheels back in the racetrack.

Also, Toyota Team Cebu is  eager to promote the sport in Cebu and are working their best in finding ways to develop a proper racing facility in Central Visayas.

The Vios Cup 2017 still maintains the same format, with four legs in the annual series. Each leg has two races and features four categories – the celebrity, promotional, sporting and super sporting class. (FREEMAN)
