Convergys, Lexmark advance in E-League
CEBU, Philippines - The twice-to-beat defending champions Convergys Converters and Lexmark Stallions elbowed out their respective foes to advance into the next stage of Elite Classic battle in the 12th CSCC E-League men's basketball tounament last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Franz Dysam had 16 points, six assists and three rebounds as the Converters ended the season of Telstra Boomerangs, 79-63, while Sylvester Millevo erupted for 26 points on top of eight rebounds, three assists and two steals as the Stallions axed the Wipro Tigers, 71-67.
Lourenz Limpangog added 14 points and five rebounds, while Kenneth Dysam chipped in 13 markers and five rebounds for the Converters, who detonated a devastating 26-11 bomb in the second quarter to blow the game out at halftime, 44-27,
On the other hand, Jan Oneil Sahilan tossed in 11 points, five steals and four assists for the Stallions, who dictated the pace of the match after taking an early 20-16 lead.
In the Evo League, the Supportsave Dragons and the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties also booted out their rivals.
Germaine Jo Guarsisma fired a season-high 24 points laced with eight rebounds, four steals and three assists as the Dragons eliminated the Author Solutions, Inc. Hardbacks, 71-53, while EJ Saavedra had 15 points and Kenneth Yodj Garcia and Robert Rebaño each scored 11 as the Tech Mighties knocked out The Results Spartans, 68-64. EBV (FREEMAN)
