Duenas, Villacin dominate Tabuelan triathlon
CEBU, Philippines - Chobie Duenas and Louie Villacin topped their respective divisions in this year’s edition of the Tabualen 111 Tri yesterday at the Maravilla Beach Club in Tabuelan town, north of Cebu
The University of Southern Philippines Foundation bet Duenas ruled the male class with relative ease as he finished the race that covered 2K swim, 88K bike and 21K run in four hours, 46 minutes and 45 seconds.
Christopher Rodriguez was a far second in 5:10:26 as Eljan Pelegrino came in third with 5:17:01 clocking.
In the women’s side, Villacin emerged as the fastest with the time of 5:55:26 as Cianyl Jamae Gonzales settled for second in 6:01:41 followed by Junemarq Ocana in 6:19:36.
Alton Amor, for his part, was the first one who crossed the finish line for the half distance, while Cebu road running king and reigning Borneo International Marathon champion Noel Tillor also had a successful debut in his first triathlon race. — (FREEMAN)
