Inter-public school caging staged in Camotes

CEBU, Philippines - After a successful inter-public high school basketball tournament in Poro, Camotes Island, action shifts to nearby town of San Francisco.

Five teams are seeing action in the event billed as Aly Arquilano Mayor's Cup 2016.  It serves among the highlights of San Fran's annual Soli Soli Festival in the first week of March.

In last week's opening game, the Camotes Hillside Academy (CHA) of Poro escaped with an 88-86 victory in overtime against the Union High School of San Francisco at the Big Apple gym. Jake Gonzales topscored for CHA with 26 points spotlighted by the winning free throws in the final two seconds of the extra period.

The other participating teams are Campillo, Camotes and Barangay Union High School. (BANAT NEWS)
