Leading the cast of contenders is defending champion Mortaflex (formerly Fusion), which is manned by licensed Mechnical Engineers led by last year's Finals MVP Ed Bonphyl Macasling.

The other team to watch out is Sun & Rain, a combined forces of architects from UAP-Raja Humabon Chapter. Their notable players include reigning regular season MVP Michael Vincent Cinco, Jun Villacorta, Richard Anthony Badayos, Paolo Alberto, Josephril Partosa and Mito Parba among others.

The rest of the crown pretenders are Bio-Fresh, Mondo Skimcoat, Megacryl 500, and Elastogel Extreme.

League president Paolo Alberto said in a press conference the other night at the Scape Skydeck of Azon Residences in Lapu-Lapu City that the two-month tournament follows a single round robin format, with the top two finishers enjoying a twice-to-beat incentives over the No.3 and No.4 seeds, respectively. The winners will then clash for the championship in a winner-take-all affair.

The schedule of the season-opening games tonight will be drawn by lots. Before the hostilities, a simple kick-off rites will take place to be highlighted by the selection of Best Muse.— EBV
