3rd VMA Power open chessfest set this weekend
CEBU, Philippines – The third edition of the annual VMA Power Open Chess Tournament will take place on December 26-27 at the second floor of Colonnade Mall along Colon Street, Cebu City. Game time is set at 1 p.m.
Held in partnership with the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA), the champion of the 7-round Swiss system competition will pocket P4,000, while the second to fourth will receive P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.
The fifth to 10th placers will get a consolation prize of P500 each.
On the other hand, the top three female and kiddie players will get P500, P300 and P200.
Registration fee is pegged at P100 for ladies and kiddies and P200 for the regular players.
