Gabby G. Malagar - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – The 1993 Dragons of skipper Adrian Colinares and the 1992 Little Rascals defeated separate rivals to forge a three-way tie on top of Division 1 standings in the University of San Carlos-NABC Sinulog Cup over the weekend at the USC-North Campus gym along General Maxilom avenue, this city.

Leon Floro 'Bong' Eleazar sparkled with 27 points as the Dragons blasted the 1989 Spartans, 93-64, for their fifth straight win in as many starts, while Lennart Perales charted 22 points to power the Little Rascals to a 75-65 triumph over the 1996 Mighty Geeks.

The Dragons and the Little Rascals, thus, joined the Lou Regidor-led 1985 Legends on top of the heap with identical 5-0 slates.

Jade Ylanan and co-captain John Soon chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively, for the Dragons. Antonio Ordona had 19 points for the Spartans, who crashed to their sixth loss against one victory.

In the other game, the 2010 Pioneers bested the 2014 Underdogs, 62-52, to go 2-1 in in Division 3. Julius Asotigue had 27 points for the Pioneers, while Clint Suelto, now playing for the University of Cebu Webmasters, nailed 23 markers for the losing Underdogs. (FREEMAN)
