USC Warriors to celebrate feat with motorcade, victory bash
CEBU, Philippines – Still in Cloud Nine after ending their 57-year title drought in Cebu collegiate basketball, newly-crowned Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) champion University of San Carlos Warriors will hold a motorcade tomorrow starting at 8:30 a.m.
The players will assemble at the USC-Main quadrangle, then proceed to USC-Technological Center in Talamban where a Thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.0m.
Led by import Shooster Olago, the first foreign player to become MVP in Cebu's premiere inter-school athletic league, the Warriors snared their first crown since 1958 when they defeated the University of the Visayas Green Lancers, 64-53, in the decider of their epic best-of-five finals last October 20 at the Cebu Coliseum.
Part of the first and only collegiate championship by the Warriors in the past five decades is Cebu hoop legend Julian Macoy, their former coach now team consultant.
Aside from the players, their parents and friends will also ride on an open coaster from the USC-Main to Talamban.
The Warriors administration will cap the day with a victory part in the evening night at the Big Hotel in North Reclamation area. (FREEMAN)
