Dynamic Power snares Division B crown
CEBU, Philippines - The Dynamic Power dethroned the RDAK Transporters by the slimmest of margins, 57-56, in the heart-pounding decider of their best-of-three finals series to clinch the Division B championship of the 20th Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHABAA) Cup last Sunday at the Magis Eagles gym of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.
Magdaleno Sy fired nailed 13 points and Walter Ong added 11 markers for Dynamic Power, which fought tooth and nail against the RDAK Transporters until the last second of the contest. They played cool under heavy pressure on the way to win the thrilling finale.
Joevince Cañizares and Jose Rey Reoma each scored 11 in a losing effort for RDAK.
In Division A, the RDAK Stallions outclassed Bayfront Hotel Cebu, 60-47, in their do-or-die match to arrange a best-of-three championship clash against defending champion Petron Goldberry.
Jair Igna finished with 12 points, while Joko Dinsay, Lucky Ecarma and Flacher Galvez netted 10 points apiece for the Stallions, who did not give Bayfront Hotel any breathing room after closing the first half with a 15-point advantage, 31-16.
