CESAFI All-Stars lineup bared

CEBU, Philippines- Cebuano hoop fans brace for another exciting treat as the best and the brightest hardcourt warriors of the 15th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. men's basketball tournament will take on each other in the annual CESAFI All-Star Games slated this Sunday at the Cebu Coliseum.

Set to showcase their skills in collegiate division under the East team of coach Gary Cortes are Steve Cedrick Akomo, Alfred Codilla, June Kent Manzo, Franz Arong, Leonard Santillan, Alvin Aguirre and Arvie Cabañero from the University of the Visayas Green Lancers, and Mark Jayven Tallo, Jesse Bautista, Jovannie Luz, Melvin Holper and Michael Auditor from defending champion Southwestern University Cobras

They will be joined by Brantford Borces, Winston Bolivar, and Keno Bajamunde from the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panthers.

 They will be going up against the West squad composed of Shooster Olago, Charles Pepito, Victor Rabat, Keifer Lim, Ian Tagapan, Nico Magat, and Ian Ortega from the University of San Carlos Warriors, Ralph Dinolan, Mark Labares, and Kevin Villafranca from the University of San Jose-Recoletos, Joshua de la Cerna, Allan Dimco and Jose Manlalo Puerto from the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats and Melvin Butohan and Graciano Puerto from the University of Cebu Webmasters. They will be under the behest of coach Britt Reroma.

In the juniors level, playing for Bong Pineda-mentored Team East are Joshua Laurente, Neon Chavez, Jhio Pakanna, Alje Mendez and Briedyn Smith of USC, Jhon Kirch Gonzaga, Joshua Ortiz, Arnold Ando and Jude Teleron of USJ-R, Jancork Cabahug, Ramish Alforque, Michael Membrano, Beirn Laurente, and Paul Amistoso of UV, and James Tempra of the Cebu Eastern College Dragons.

Suiting up for the West side under the tutelage of Jover Samonte are Travis Mantua, Wayne Bersalona, Jed Colonia, Andrew Velasco, Eroll Pastor and Phil Calumpang from the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles, Froilan Mangubat, Jason Abejo, Luigi Gabisan, Jhon Cuyos, and Gelmart Umpad of UC, Allen Obenza and Harvell Peligrino of USPF, and Jasper Berezo and Marion Abinuman of CIT-U.

In between games, some exciting side events will be contested including the 3-point shootout and the Salm Dunk competition. (FREEMAN)
