TCC bets dance their way to golden 13 in DSCPI tilt

PASIG CIT, Philippines – Despite the fall of one of Cebu's star couples, Dancesport-Team Cebu City still shone brightly as it carted away 13 golds, eight silvers and six bronzes during the kick off leg of the 2015 DSCPI 1st Quarterly Ranking and Competition at Philsports Arena here.

DTCC's top bets Wilbert Aunzo and Pearl Marie Caneda placed a dismal fifth in the premiere latin A class, but the new tandem of Ansel Estellore and Mary Desiree Seraga made up for their so-so performance after winning bronze in the said class.

Appearance alone, Caneda was less stunning with her very conservative outfit. They also had less power in their performance that even saw one of the judges ranking them with as low as seven in some of the five-dance battle.

Compounding their woes, Aunzo slipped and failed to catch Caneda on the jive.

Estellore and Seraga, for their part, enjoyed every moment on the dancefloor, executing great moves en route to a decent third-place finish behind Manila's Michael Angelo Marquez and Stephanie Sabalo. Gerald Jamili and Cherry Clarice Parcon of Team Visayas got the silver.

Overall, DTCC still had a good time after dominating 13 categories led by Lapu-Lapu City's pride Charlea and Ronnie Vergara in the professional class.

Kelly Diluvio returned to action with a gold in the latin grade along with Eijen Lidon, while his cousin Bert Kevin Diluvio and Jam Flores reigned supreme in grade B. Jeffrey Ruben Benarao and Mary Rose Canillo settled for bronze.

John Lloyd Leyson and Ouie Selene Rendon and the tandem of Nino Salve and Jannah Marie Pugoy had a 1-3 finish in both the latin and standard juvenile C class.Rendon and Leyson were also unopposed in the juvenile A latin and in the modern standard division for a total of four golds.

DTCC's tireless directress, Eleanor Hayco, showcased her wares well with Jimmy Noel for the gold in the senior A class plus a silver in the teacher-student-2A class with Wilbert Aunzo.

DTCC swept the medals in the latin TS-1C, with Bert Kevin Deluvio and Jam Flores leading the way followed by Benarao and Canilo and Inoue Roi Rendon and Shairmaine Bue Maloloy-on.

James Bryan and Christine Camacho got a double gold through the latin and standard youth C class.

Lloyd Simon Asuque and Rylyn Jhea Romeo ended their bid with a gold and silver, respectively, in the junior C standard plus a bronze in the latin junior C, while Zijane Troy and Zijane Tracy Villarta ruled the standard youth A division.

The likes of Jake Emmanuel Corro and Anndreah Kier Capangpangan got a triple silver in the latin and standard junior A and latin junior C, while  Romeo Jay Cialbo and Mae Pabuaya wound up with a bronze in the standard TS-1C. (FREEMAN)
