Surban to show ware in Brazil
CEBU, Philippines – Cebuano cyclist Niño Surban shows action in another international event as he gears up for the Aquece Rio-Mountainbike Challenge on October 11 in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
The said race is a test event for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Surban will also be joining a race that is classified under UCI calendar as class 2 for both men and women’s elite.
This event is an opportunity for cyclists to get acclimatized to the same circuit that will be used during the Olympics. Only 30 countries are invited in the event and Surban got qualified based on his UCI points as bared by Philcycling's mountainbike commission head, Oscar "Boying" Rodriguez Jr.
Before that, Surban is also racing in Japan for this year’s edition of the Yawatahama International Cross-country race on May 17 as part of his preparation for two big events in this year.
Surban is also competing in the 2015 UCI Mountainbike Marathon World Championships in Selva Val Gardena, Dolomites, Italy on June 27 and UCI World Cup Cross-country event in Lenzerheide, Switzerland on July 5.
He is also set to compete in the Asian Continental Championships in Indonesia later this year. (FREEMAN)
