7th CAV basketball tourney gets underway tomorrow

CEBU, Philippines – Seven commercial teams will vie for top honors in the 7th Christian Athletic Volunteers Invitational Basketball Tournament, which will kickoff tomorrow at the Tejero Sports Complex.

Defending champion MGM will be competing against other teams that include AC Sports, San Remigio Properties, FXC elevator,  ASPA Scaffoldings, Crystal King and JVR-Talisay.

Barangay Tejero councilman Garry B.Lao, the chairman for the committe on sports, said that they are partnering with the Christian Athletic Volunteers, a ministry of The Risen Saviour Bible Baptist Church-Tejero, in their advocacy in uplifting the moral standards of our athletes.

CAV's events are open to all ages, organizations and sectors. In fact, CAV's sports director, Niño Lao said that there are former varsities and commercial players that will be playing on the seventh edition.

The tournament follows a single-round robin format on the elimination round. (FREEMAN)
