Over a hundred teams to join Sinulog bootfest

CEBU, Philippines - Over a hundred teams have already confirmed their participation in the fifth edition of Sinulog Football Festival slated on January 10-11 at the San Roque Parish football field in Brgy.Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

However, the teams that have already enlisted still need the final nod of the organizing Cebu Football Association since they are only limiting the slots in each class.

"We had to limit the number of entries this year since we can only use one field right now," said CFA's Dino Musni.

The fifth Sinulog Cup has three categories that include mixed players in the under 7, 9, and 11 years class.

The boys, on the other hand, will have the under-13, 15, 18 38-above, inter-BPO, inter-company and the men's open.The will have the under-15 and ladies ‘open.

All categories will be played on a 7-a-side format with 15 minutes per game.

Aside from football, a running event is also included in the line-up of activities for the Sinulog. The Sinulog Fun Run will take place on December 30 starting and ending at the Cebu City Sports Center.— (FREEMAN)
