Oblation Marathon

A lot of my macho, este... “pogay” friends suggested I organize an Oblation Run. They said with the mushrooming runs, conducted every week, they want something different.  But I told them “mura’g dili” kay that belongs to the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity of the University of the Philippines.”  If you don’t know, Apo holds a run every  December where runners just wear bonnets  to cover their faces while letting “em” all hang loose.  Besides, Vice Mayor Ed Labella said  we could be charged with indecent exposure if we take it out of the campus.  Just imagine running in the streets naked? It could create a monstrous traffic jam or worse “maaksidente ang mga babaye kay magsige ma’g tan-aw.”  My “manicurista”said , we could have compared notes. And come to think of it, where shall we pin the race numbers? But who knows, we might  just come up with a “streakers run” at least there will be no legal problem.

Christmas Treat

After our big sponsors begged off to call the shots for our proposed gig due to time constraints, we decided to still go on with it in the spirit of Christmas.  Yes folks, as our gift to the Cebuanos, we will stage “Christmas with Elvisaya and Friends” on December 20 at the Activity Center of Robinsons Fuente.  The show that starts at 5 p.m. features Elvisaya, the Elvis of the Visayas, Jhun Villahermosa, the Frank Sinatra of Cebu, TV host Aime Filomeno, a former Pop Music winner and Sam Costanilla and Max “Daloydoy” Andrino, collectively known as Dos Gwapos.  The concert promises to be a big treat to the audience what with the performers belting standards and Christmas songs.  Of course, you will die laughing with the stand up comedy of Sam and Max.  The event is being backed by Casa Ilongga which is also commemorating Its 33 years in the business and Robinsons Fuente.  Also supporting the show are Metrografix, Summit Circle and Susie Chan.

Floyd and Manny

So finally, Floyd Mayweather can’t run and hide anymore.  He’s now cornered and has no choice but to fight Manny Pacquiao due to clamor of many.  But he is singing a different tune, charging Manny of evading him (Floyd) who comes up with a million reasons like Manny’s refusal to undergo random blood testing.  The mega bout is scheduled in May.  We just hope Floyd doesn’t back out in the last minute.
