Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – Cebuano dance athletes Ronnie Steve and Charlea Vergara showcased their wares with finesse to claim the coveted professional title of the 69th edition of the Australian Dancesport Championbship in Hinsense Arena in Melbourne, Australia.

From the amateur ranks in American Latin discipline, the Dancesport-Team Cebu City bets decided to go professional where they succeed against 21 entries from Australia, China and New Zealand.

Being the only representatives for Philippines who made it to the finals, the tandem did not show any double and showed that they could win it by putting up a good show in Samba.

On the second dance in the finals, the Vergaras showed that they were having fun while having an impressive performance on the Rhumba .

They were going for the gold while doing the Pasa-doble but their performance in Jazz sealed their bid for the title.

The 2010 Asian Games bronze medalists are the first Filipino duo to be part of the honor roll in the said event after beating Victoria's New South Whales' Joel Conroy and Stacey Petts and New South Whales' Serge Linnik and Olia Koudrina.

Meanwhile, two other volunteer-teacher-athletes of DTCC in Wilbert Aunzo and Perl Marie Caneda also showed their talent infront of  Australian crowd by dominating the 68th edition of the ADSC through the open youth division. (FREEMAN)
