United Statement Run set Dec.14

CEBU, Philippines - A runner will have a chance to express oneself by means of a fun run in the staging of the first United Statement Run slated on December 14 starting and ending at the Parkmall grounds in Mandaue City.

Runners will be wearing a singlet with their favorite statements, quote, sayings or whatever is on their mind making the running event a one of a kind.

The categories to be contested are the 10K, 5K and 3K fun run.

“Based on our research, there’s no one else in the world that is doing this,” said organizer Ray Dela Cerna of Kayod Pilipino, a Cebu-based shirt and printing company in a press conference yesterday at Dong Juan in Parkmall.

Dela Cerna also said that the run will be a fundraising activity for the underprivileged students who are scholars of their company.

"This is a non-profit running event all of the proceeds will go straight to our scholarship foundation. This is our way of giving thanks to the Cebuano runners because if not for them, our business won't have grown to what it is right now," added Dela Serna.

Cash prizes await the winners in each category. Registration fee is pegged at P550 for 10K, P450 for 5K and P400 for 3K. The entry fee is inclusive of statement singlet, specially designed finisher’s medal and post-race refreshment.
