Lapu-Lapu to stage marathon race
CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City will be hosting another marathon dubbed as ‘The Historic Resort City Marathon 2014’ set on November 30 starting and ending at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall grounds.
The event, which is one of the highlights of the annual Lapu-Lapu City fiesta celebration, carries the theme “Dagan Para sa Kahimsog, Kahapsay, Kalinaw.”
Aside from the lung-busting 42K category, the race will also feature the 21K half marathon, 10K, 5K and 3K fun run.
Registration is now going on at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall, Lapu-Lapu Tourist Police office, RUNNR, The Athlete’s Foot and Planet Sports in Ayala Center-Cebu and Planet Sports at Pueblo Verde in Mactan. One can also register on-line through aktib.ph.
Entry fee is pegged at P1,200 for the 42K, P900 for 21K, P550 for 10K, P450 for 5K and P350 for 3K inclusive of singlet, race bib, post race refreshments and finisher’s medal.
All 42K finishers will also get a souvenir shirt. The claiming of race kits will be on November 24-29 at the Lapu-lapu City Hall and RUNNR in Ayala Center Cebu.
