CESAFI basketball elims ends today

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Four games are on tap today headlined by the collision between Southwestern University Cobras against the University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars at the end of the elimination round of the 14th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) men's basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.

In the other collegiate duel set at 4 p.m., the University of Cebu Webmasters will go up against the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats, who will be playing without suspended head coach Gilbert Demape, who was ejected late in the third period during their 63-68 loss to the Jaguars last Thursday.

Also, there will be two high school matches earlier this afternoon, with the University of San Carlos Baby Warriors and the Cebu Eastern College Dragons taking on separate rivals for official positioning going into the quarterfinal round.

The Baby Warriors hope to formally settle at third place when they face off with the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Baby Panthers, while the Dragons clash against the Baby Jaguars in the opener.

Barring any upset, the Cobras will end the double round elimination as the top seed, while the USC Warriors will grab the second semifinal berth.

A possible win for the Jaguars will cement their hold of the third spot, leaving the University of  the Visayas Green Lancers at fourth. (GGM) (FREEMAN)
