Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  Dr.Felipe Montejo who is considered as the riding dentist of Cebu, is the fifth motocross rider set to be featured in today’s MS Motosuit Motocross TV Series’ Motocross Rider Life Story (MX-R LS) aired over at CCTN 47 at 10:30 a.m.

Although already retired from racing, Montejo continues to support motocross especially the MS Motosuit Motocross Series which has done four legs so far in this year’s revival outing.

Montejo started motocross in 1997 after being influenced by his good friend, Seigfred Ornopia, brother of MS Motosuit’s big boss and Calambua barangay captain Lou Ornopia. They lived in a neighboring barangays in San Remegio before.

Montejo retired in 2011 when he suffered a shoulder injury.

More than the physical pain, the decision to quit racing was more painful for him to do, but which he had to because he needs to take care of his hands to be able to continue serving his patients as a dentist.

“Nabali akong bukton. Lisod kayo og magpadayon kog lumba, kamot biya nako akong puhunan so niundang na lang gyud ko.”

But as to how he managed to joggle his job and motocross before is something that motocross followers should look into.

Although there was another doctor who also joined motocross races, Montejo is the first and only known dentist around who is into the said sport.

“Lami gyud kayo ang mulumba ka’s motocross. Stress reliever and it makes you healthy and physically fit,”

For those who can’t catch up in tomorrow’s airing, Montejo’s story will be replayed on Sunday at 10 p.m.

Montejo is the fifth rider that had been featured in this motocross show next to BJ Pepito, John Flores, Ted Conde  and Dongkey Sanchez. (FREEMAN)
