Bernaldez mauls foe in ALA-Cobra boxing
CEBU, Philippines- The undefeated ALA Boxing Gym mainstay Mark ‘Machete’ Bernaldez delivered a spectacular fourth round knockout win against Ryan ‘Street Fighter’ Bongcawil in the main event of ALA Promotions-Cobra Energy Drink ‘Tunay na Lakas Boxing’ the other night at the Lapasan covered court in Cagayan de Oro City.
The 22-year-old Bernaldez slowly but surely dissected Bongcawil, connecting solid combinations to the head and body of the Malaybalay City-native fighter.
Bernaldez sustained his relentless offensive on Bongcawil in the fourth round where he launched a barrage of punches capped by a brutal one-two combo that finished off Bongcawil for good.
Bernaldez, thus, stretched his unbeaten record to 14-0 now spiked with nine stoppages. Bongcawil suffered his 11th loss in 18 fights.
In the supporting main event, another ALA Gym warrior in Elmo ‘Bisdak’ Traya (5-,1, 4KOs) easily disposed Jesar Ancajas (15-25, 7KOs) in the first round.
In the other results, Jonas Sultan stopped Renante Suasca in the opening round, Jess Whaminal triumphed over Paolo Perono via third round TKO, Andrew Debucas beat Prince Canonero by unanimous decision, while Brian Lobitania and Rowell Garcia fought to a technical draw. (FREEMAN)
