Alta Vista to host 9th PAL Ladies Interclub
CEBU, Philippines - Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Pardo, Cebu City will be hosting the 9th Philippine Airlines (PAL) Ladies Interclub on October 22 to 25 with the theme ‘Angels in Flight.’
The first team captains’ meeting was held Friday at the AVGCC ballroom where the team captains submitted the club rosters.
Henry Arabelo, the tournament director, said that the event will be using the Molave Points System.
The scoring format awards seven points for a double-eagle, six for an ace, five for eagle, four for birdie, three for par, two for bogey, and one for double-bogey.
The second team captains’ meeting will be held on October 22 along with the ceremonial tee off.
The tournament proper will be on the 23rd to the 25th. Arabelo said that the teams can field a maximum of eight players per round, but only the five best scores would count for the team total. A team will only play two rounds during the three-day period.
The team captains’ tournament was also held Friday.
Set to participate in the event will be Luzon teams Alabang A and B, Camp Aguinaldo, Eagle Ridge, Manila Southwoods Legends and Masters, Riviera, Santa Elena, Tagaytay Highlands, the combined Valley Golfers and Country Club, and Wack-Wack.
From Visayas, the teams are host Alta Vista, Cebu Country Club A and B, Bacolod Golf, Iloilo Golf, Negros Occidental Golf, Victorias, and Mactan.
The Mindanao teams are Apo, Davao Golf, Pueblo de Oro, Rancho Palos Verdes, and Zamboanga.
The lone foreign team will be the Lady Eagles Australian Golfers.
Also present during the team captains’ meeting was Ana Leah Rodriguez, the vice chairman of the tournament, and Nimrod NL Quiñones, general manager of the host club.
The results of the team captains’ tournament will be announced during the awards ceremony on October 25 at the Alta Vista ballroom.
Only teams represented in the first team captains’ meeting will be allowed to join the tournament. (PR from www.fullpointcebu.com)
