Alaska Ironkids ‘Run Out’ today
CEBU, Philippines - Triathlon pros and the future stars of the sport and their respective families are all set to go for a fun-filled Alaska Ironkids 'Run Out' today at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa in Lapu-Lapu City.
Among the pros leading the practice run are Pete Jacobs, Caroline Steffen and coach Matt O’Halloran of the Alaska Tri-Aspire Team.
Filipino elites Banjo Norte, Jenny Guerrero, Jonard Saim, Noemi Galleos, JC Abad, and Christine Hipol are also expected to join the fun.
Participants of the run will have a stopover at the Mactan Elementary School where over 1,500 children will be joining in the 'Alaska Ironkids supports Gatas for Breakfast' campaign.
Each participant will get a glass of Alaska Milk as well as take part in some exciting activities.
The movement, which kicked off last June 1 during the Alaska World Milk Day, encourages everyone to start their day right with a nutritious breakfast with Alaska milk.
Tomorrow, the battle among the future starts of triathlon will take place also in Shangri-La. This is the second and final event for Alaska Ironkids this year.
The first wave will be for 11-12 and 13-14 age groups followed by the relay category 2 and long distance play. The third wave will have the 6-8 and 9-10, while the final wave is for the relay category 1 and short distance play. (FREEMAN)
