Giuseppe FC taps Italian coaches in clinic

CEBU, Philippines -  Giuseppe Football Club is serious in developing world class football players as they enhance their grassroots program by infusing Italian style football in their system.

Giuseppe FC through one of its founders Rachel Genco is bringing in former Italian players turned coaches Nicolo Ferrante and Marco Cumbo to Cebu for a two day-clinic on August 2 to 3 at the club’s football field near Sandtrap in Brgy.Banilad.

This is the first time that the two Italian coaches are training local players in Cebu.

Giuseppe wants to give emphasis on grassroots since all world-class players started to train when they were young.

“We want to share, not to change anything,” said Genco during a press conference yesterday at the Giuseppe Pizzeria and Italian Roast in Banilad.

Ferrante, for his part, said that the young players that are under GFC during their training  shown promise with positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Giuseppe FC also envisioned a football academy in the future, but Genco wants to make sure they get to have new football pitches first.  (FREEMAN)
