MGM Sounds blasts Dexienne, wins CAV cagefest title

CEBU, Philippines - The MGM Sounds of Brgy.Lorega San Miguel made an impressive debut in the Christian Athletic Volunteers  Basketball Invitational Tournament as they clinched the championship with an empathic 83-58 victory over Team Dexienne the other night at the Tejero Sports Complex.

Team MGM of councilors Mark Manal and Rolando Comeros took command of the entire ballgame as they executed great teamwork while giving each player a chance to score.

Jhune Compra and James Ferraren led MGM as they combined for 34 points, while Matthew Oche was the bright spot for Team Dexienne with 15 markers.

MGM went home with P20,000 with a championship trophy., while Dexienne received P10,000 as a second runner-up in the sixth season of the tournament. Friends of Day-as Day-as Catchers also pocketed P2,000 after winning the third place.

The month-long tournament is sponsored by Cebu City Rep. Raul del Mar, Cebu City councilor Margot Osmeña, Franklyn Ong of Barangay Kasambagan, MGM Sounds, The Risen Saviour Bible Baptist Church-Tejero, HIM Cooperative Clinic and the Tejero Barangay Officials headed by Brgy.Captain Jing Cadungog.
