Cebu Blue Marlins dominate CCSC swimfest

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Blue Marlins hauled 26 golds, eight silvers and three bronzes to rule the swimming event held recently at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Represented by new breeds of talents, CBM raked in medals in different age-groups led by Irish Cabajar with four golds through the 13-14 class.

The likes of Joseph Karl Cruz, John Vayne Tangoan, Julienne Derek Base, Katerine Zolin Libron, and Chalya Jasmin Dequito grabbed three golds each. Cruz and Libron won gilts through the 7-8 age group, Tangoan in the 9-10, and Base and Dequito in the 15-17.

The other medal contributors for CBM under the boys division were Daniel Patrick McKernan with three silvers in the 7-8 class, Pius Arthur Uy with a gold, a silver and a bronze in the 11-12 class, Chaz Markis Base with two golds and a silver in the 13-14 division.

In the distaff side, 7-8 class bet Mary Caryle Nemeno and 9-10 class entry Sonya Chrystine Base bagged one gold and one bronze each, while Mary Gabrielle Nemeno had two golds and as many silvers.  (FREEMAN)
