Over 1000 runners to join Amazon Festival Run

CEBU, Philippines - Over 1,000 fitness buffs are expected to participate in the first ever ‘Amazon Festival Run’ slated on May 1 at the Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.

Spearheaded by Amazon Events, the running event serves as a fund raising project for ICanserve Foundation Inc. who helps in promoting cancer awareness in Cebu.

“We are targeting 1,200 or more. This event will be more festive compared to the other color run. This race is a combination of fun and competition.” said Kathleen Ramos, one of the organizers.

"Aside from powder cannons, we will also have DJs and dancers that will give a festive mood before and after the race.”

The race will feature 6-kilometer, 12K and 21K categories.

More than P30,000 cash prizes is at stake for the top finishers in each category. All 21K finishers will also receive a specially-designed finishers’ medal.

Runners also have a chance to win exciting prizes in the raffle draw after the race.

To highlight the event, host/commercial model  Marc Nelson and fitness enthusiast and media personality Dyan Castillejo will be present as guests of honor.

Entry fee is pegged at P750 for 21K, P650 for 12K and P550 for 6K inclusive of the singlet, race bib, sunglasses and certificates.One may register at RUNNRS at Ayala Center Cebu and A Runner’s Circle at Raintree Mall.  (FREEMAN)
