UC-Nigeria booters claim third straight title.

CEBU, Philippines - The Nigerian-powered University of Cebu (UC) sealed a grand slam victory after ruling the 3rd BRO Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City yesterday.

The Nigerians claimed the throne in the men’s open with a 3-1 triumph against Team Korea.

Prior to this tournament, the UC-Nigeria also won back-to-back titles in the Don Bosco Football League and in the 16th Aboitiz Football Cup.

UC-Nigeria and Team Korean ended the first half with a 1-all, but the Nigerians suddenly went hot offensively as they score two straight goals courtesy of Adiole at the 83rd minute and Pastor on the 92nd minute.

Earlier, Palarong Pambansa-bound Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association's (CVIRAA) elementary and secondary squads snared a double-championship against Don Bosco Technology Center teams.

CVIRAA-elementary squad composed mostly of DBTC players as well silenced their fellow Bosconian with a 6-0 victory for the under-13 championship.

Dustin Ramirez was waxing hot with four goals for the CVIRAA squad while Jasha Tabar and Petrovic Pacifico had one goal apiece.

In the under-18 finals, CVIRAA squad claimed the title with a dominating 4 - 0 win against DBTC. Alemark Davao and Shane Sarmiento both connected with two goals for CVIRAA. (FREEMAN)
