Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuana triathlete Aaliyah Ricci Mataragnon returns to Singapore this weekend to compete in the New Moon khcycle MetaSprint Series Mataragnon had a successful debut last year in the said event winning a bronze medal under the youth division's 12-13 class.

Mataragnon who will be the lone representative from Cebu will be racing under the 14-15 class this time.

Richie Mataragnon, Aaaliyah’s father, said that his daughter is facing a tough task against elite opponents, but he is confident that his daughter can put up a good fight.

Although Aaliyah is more comfortable on long distance triathlon races, her sterling performance during the Cebu leg of the National Age Group Triathlon Series in Danao City reveals she is ready for bigger challenge.

Also adding boost to Aaliyah's return bout to Singapore is the support given to her and the rest of the TriCebu squad by Plantation Bay Resort and Spa.

Plantation Bay made true to its promise of making their resort available for training to the highly-potential Cebuano triathletes.

Plantation Bay started supporting the local triathletes under the national training pool during the last time they hosted the NAGT Series.

On the other hand, over a hundred triathletes are set to see action in the 2nd leg of the Team Tri- Championship Series in Santa Fe.

The event features standard, sprint, premier team competition and kids’ triathlon. (FREEMAN)
