Lemuel P. Maglinte - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - It’s all systems go for the first leg of Man and Machine Supercross 2014 series that will kick off this weekend at the South Road Properties (SRP).

Over a hundred riders are expected to join the first of the eight-leg series that was spread all over the country.

Glenn Aguilar, one of the country’s most decorated riders, will not be participating in this series as he admitted to have a lack of preparation for this event.

This leaves Cebu’s pride Jon-Jon Adlawan and Mindanao’s Rhowell Mangosong as the top local contenders for the pro open crown, but they will have a tough competition as foreign riders from Hungary and France have already expressed their interest to join the race.

Aside from Adlawan and Mangosong, other elite riders who will strut their wares in the pro open category are Donark Yuzon, Jubenile Abellar and Ambo Yapparcorn.

The other categories featured in the two-day race spearheaded by Man and Machine Racing Promotions and supported by Cebu City government, include the pro lite, open enduro, underbone, novice open, women’s open, local endure, intermediate, peewee 50 and  65 cc, veterans A,B and C and mini-category.

The race that will be one of the highlights for the 77th Charter Day Celebration of Cebu City is being held in partnership with Kopiko, Rusi Motors, Jela Construction, Sel-J motorsports and nature spring waters. (BANAT NEWS)
