VMA-Power chessfest dangles P30T in cash prize for winners

CEBU, Philippines - Close to P30,000 in cash prize is at stake for the winners of the 2nd VMA-Power Open Chess Tournament slated on February 8-9 at the Colonnade Mall along Colon Street, this city.

The champion of the 9-round Swiss system tournament will pocket P6,000, while the second to fifth placers will take home P4,000, P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively. The sixth to 10th will get P500 each, while the 11th to 20th will earn a consolation prize of P400. Those who will make it to the top 30 list will receive P300 apiece.

The top performer among the Cepcans, junior, kiddie and lady players will get an additional incentive of P500 each.
