Sunsport extends basketball training camp

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  Due to public clamor, Sunsport Basketball will extend its training camp for five more weeks beginning January 11 still at the Sacred Heart Center Sports Club along D. Jakosalem Street, this city.

The cage clinic will be held on Saturdays covering two hours per session from 12nn to 2 pm.

"The parents are very satisfied with the results they've seen from their kids who joined our camp. They noticed a great improvement in the playing skills of their kids that is why they requested me to extend our training," said camp director JoJo Romarate.

He reassured the participants that they will learn both the fundamental and technical aspect of the sport in the course of their training."We will impart to our students the fundamentals of the sport such as proper shooting, dribbling, passing, footwork and other related drills," Romarate said.

"Aside from that basics of basketball, they will also be taught on some offensive and defensive strategies, on-court communication and other technical aspect of the game," added the head coach of Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) Skyblazers.

"Above all these drills, we want to instill in them the value of hardwork, discipline and teamwork as well as the spirit of sportsmanship, which is the very essence of a well-rounded athlete."

Registration fee is pegged at only P1, 000 inclusive of a training jersey and a Sunsport basketball.

For more inquiries, interested parties may contact Romarate at 0921-2338305 or 0932-8475634 or the Sunsport office at 345-1015/0917-3205769/0922-8377712.— EBV (FREEMAN)
