BMR Racing ends year with a bang
CEBU, Philippines - Team Suzuki-BMR-Zic Racing ended its 2013 season with a bang by reaping several honors in the final leg of the Visayas-Mindanao Regional Underbone Grand Prix (RUGP) Series last week in Cagayan de Oro City.
After getting only runner-up finishes in the past five legs, Mario Borbon saved his best for last with a champion's trophy in the expert 130 underbone category. He also placed second in the expert 4AT open scooter and third in the expert open underbone.
Neil Perino, on the other hand, topped the beginners 4AT 130 scooter he spiced up with two third place trophies via the 100-124cc superstock and novice 160.
John Louis Chan added glitter to Suzuki-BMR-Zic's campaign by placing third in the novice 130 underbone.
The day ended brightly for Suzuki-BMR-Zic as Perino was named as the RUGP Rookie of the Year, thanks to the full support accorded to him by Suzuki Philippines, FDR Tires, Zic 4T racing oil, KYT helmets, SpecV performance parts, Rextor CDI and Fox shox.
It's the second time that Suzuki-BMR-Zic Racing bagged the ROY award after Chan.
Yamaha-Petronas-Mackyworx's Vingie Coloma was named Rider of the Year, April King Mascardo of Suzuki Phoenix Vman the top intermediate expert rider, and Petronas Mototek Mapco's Durraine Dan Carlos as the best novice rider and Suzuki Nex115 rider of the Year.— (FREEMAN)
