Sanchez, Rubi shine in Panoypoy moto-x

CEBU, Philippines - Veteran rider Donkey Sanchez and the ageless Pepo Rubi shared the spotlight in the 4th Kapitan Dennis Balaba Motocross Competition recently at a specialized racetrack in Panoypoy, Consolacion.

Sanchez came up with a double championship via the expert and novice open categories, while Rubi came out the best rider in the executive division.

Trailing Sanchez in the novice open were Ayen Ledesma and Ehr Jun Codiniera. Ledesma also finished second to Rubi in the executive class as James Doroy took the third place honors.

In the underbone expert action, Wiwie Borces took the top spot followed by John Allen and RK Cuesta, while the top three performers in the local enduro were Renren Hisoler, Janjan Hisoler, and JP Cuesta.

Organized by Brgy. Capt. Dennis S. Balaba, Deolito M. Codiniera,, Jr. and Hon. Joel A. Montalla, the one-day race was among the highlights of Panoypoy's annual fiesta celebration in honor of its beloved patron Sr. San Gabriel. (FREEMAN)
